Base Metal Projects Highlights

Base Metal Projects - Labrador, Canada

Base metal prices rose steadily in 2009 after the global economic crisis of 2008 . Some metal prices recovered more than 100% through 2009 causing a resurgence of interest in base metals properties.

In May, 2007 Capella acquired extensive land positions in Atlantic Canada, more specifically, the provinces of Newfoundland, Labrador, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. The claims were secured by way of a share exchange with Tripple Uranium Resources Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Capella. In 2007 Capella actively pursued simultaneous exploration in the provinces with three airborne geophysical surveys, three exploration drills and over 30 in-field committed geosciences professionals. The more than $5M geophysical survey program enabled large-scale simultaneous exploration coverage and immediate targeting for drilling.

This aggressive exploration campaign resulted in Capella's uranium discovery in New Brunswick, the identification of over 50 EM targets in Labrador and the discovery of highly anomalous surface base metal mineralization in Nova Scotia.

  • Over 50 Electro-Magnetic ("EM") anomalies identified in 2007 geophysical survey
  • Eight targets drilled in 2007, >30 metre-wide massive sulphide zone identified
  • Ground-proofing of 18 base metal targets complete, surface samples returned peak copper assay values as high as >1% and drill program planning is currently in progress.
